Infrastructure-wide High Availability, Data Protection, and Disaster Recovery
VergeOS Makes Infrastructure Resilience Simple and Affordable
VergeOS is an UltraConverged Infrastructure that integrates virtualization, storage, and networking into a cohesive operating environment. With VergeOS, there is one package to install; the first virtual machine you create is yours. The environment is always highly available and provides complete data resiliency and protection while ensuring your organization can survive any disaster.
Watch a demonstration of VergeOS's High Availability, Data Protection, and Disaster Recovery capabilities.
Automated High Availability
The VergeOS environment provides complete high availability. In the case of a server failure, all the virtual machines running on that server will instantiate on another server within the instance. VergeOS uses a narrow AI algorithm that predictively determines the best possible node to relocate the impacted virtual machines to, which ensures seamless transition and performance during a failed state.
Unmatched Data Protection
VergeOS provides always-on global inline deduplication integrated at its core, enabling customers to enjoy significant storage capacity savings with almost no performance impact. It delivers 4:1 or greater deduplication ratios driving down the cost of storage even further.
VergeOS' Global Inline Deduplication also powers VergeOS’ data protection capabilities. As applications or users write data to the VergeOS instance, the deduplication algorithm examines it in 64K segments for uniqueness.
Snapshots That Act Like Clones
VergeIO provides unlimited snapshots via its IOclone technology. Customers can execute snapshots as frequently as the organization requires and retain them indefinitely without impacting performance, unlike traditional snapshot technology in dedicated storage arrays and other hypervisors.
VergeIO’s snapshots act more like clones, meaning they are independent, standalone copies, whereas traditional snapshots depend entirely on the snapshot before them. VergeOS snapshots' independence is an important differentiator and enables it to meet the 3-2-1 rule of backup.
Virtual Data Centers Simplify Disaster Recovery
Traditional disaster recovery solutions, which involve complex integration of data, virtual machines, and network settings, often fail to provide complete protection. VergeOS addresses this with its multi-tenant virtual data centers (VDCs), encapsulating the entire data center, including VMs, network, and storage settings. This encapsulation allows for easy replication and management of the data center as a single object.
Implementing VDCs in disaster recovery strategies involves simply copying the VDC to the DR site and establishing asynchronous replication. If a disaster occurs, the DR site's VDC contains a replica of the original data center, including all the configuration details, ensuring functionality even on different servers, storage, and networking hardware. VergeOS customers have experienced a significant reduction in time spent on recovery, and an improved success rate of their DR tests with a 100% success rate in rapid disaster recovery.
