How to Eliminate the Data Center Scale Problem
About this webinar
The source of data center complexity is the inability to efficiently scale the three data center tiers (compute, storage, and networking). The lack of an inefficient scaling within each tier forces IT to create workload-based silos, each with its own compute layer and storage layer. Each new workload typically requires new compute, storage and networking. Virtualization and later hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) attempted to solve complexity, but both ran into the scale problem.
VergeIO’s VergeOS solves the scale problem and opens a pathway to data center simplification while lowering IT spending.
Join us for our live webinar, “How to Eliminate the Data Center Scale Problem,” to learn the critical architectural capabilities required to eliminate the scale problem.
- Abstract physical resources (compute, storage and networking) from a cluster of dissimilar midrange servers into a global pool
- Instead of creating virtual machines, create virtual data centers to surgically provide those resources, ensuring workload-specific service quality.
- Integrate storage into the operating environment, leveraging global deduplication that doesn’t impact performance, enabling a significant reduction in storage spending while increasing data protection.
- Integrate these capabilities into a single piece of software, creating a cohesive data center operating environment.
George Crump Joins VergeIO as CMO
Brings over 30 years IT industry experience to rapidly growing technology innovator
Ann Arbor, Mich, January 10, 2023 — VergeIO, the Ultraconverged Infrastructure (UCI) company, today announced that veteran industry analyst George Crump is joining the team as the company’s new Chief Marketing Officer, evangelizing VergeOS software as a better alternative to legacy hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) and the public cloud.
For 14 years, Crump was the founder and lead analyst at Storage Switzerland, a premier independent IT research firm covering the storage, backup virtualization, and cloud markets. As a writer, speaker, and strategic thinker, he focuses on giving IT practical insight into the solutions to data center problems. He has over 30 years of experience in the IT industry, holding executive engineering, sales, and marketing positions. Before joining VergeIO, he was Chief Marketing Officer and then Chief Product Strategist at StorONE, an enterprise storage software provider.
Crump’s appointment follows an expansion of VergeIO’s sales and technology advancements that have generated strong results.
“There is no one in our industry with George’s reputation and credibility when it comes to identifying the right products and technologies for organizations looking to improve IT operations and reduce total cost of ownership,” said Yan Ness, VergeIO CEO. “The IT community has long valued George’s experience, insight, and clarity. As our CMO, he can continue to help IT professionals address their most critical issues, like controlling cost, scaling to meet performance and capacity demands, and simplifying IT.”
“VergeIO and its VergeOS software embody what I’ve been advocating for years: organizations must find ways to reduce the cost and complexity of virtualization, storage, and networking infrastructures,” said Crump. “The root cause of the ever-increasing data center cost and complexity is today’s solutions are too niche and don’t address the scale problem. I believe VergeIO is the company that has broken through these challenges.”
George and Yan will host a live webinar, “How to Eliminate the Data Center Scale Problem,” this Thursday at 11:45 AM ET / 8:45 AM PT to explain how the VergeOS architecture eliminates the scale problem and leads to a far simpler and more cost-effective IT infrastructure.
About VergeIO
The VergeOS software goes beyond HCI and converges the entire data center (virtualization, networking, and storage) into a cohesive data center operating system. The result is an ultraconverged infrastructure (UCI), that unifies the underlying hardware into a highly scalable global resource pool.
Its simplicity of operation enables IT generalists to create virtual data centers (VDC) and assign specific resources from the global resource pool to deliver complete workload consolidation without risking performance integrity. VergeOS dramatically reduces IT spend and operational complexity compared to traditional three-tier architectures, HCI, or public cloud. VergeOS provides global inline deduplication, virtualized workloads with bare-metal performance, and comprehensive data protection.
Three IT Infrastructure Questions IT Leaders Must Answer in 2023
About this webinar
IT infrastructures are undergoing dramatic changes. Companies are planning or executing their public cloud strategy while trying to bring a more cloud-like experience on-premises. At the same time, many organizations must develop an Edge Strategy to improve data collection and speed decision-making. The choices available and the weight of the decisions make 2023 a pivotal year for IT infrastructure.
Join VergeIO for our live webinar to learn the three most critical infrastructure questions IT leaders must answer in 2023:
1. Is the Public Cloud my best choice?
2. Why has HCI not delivered operational efficiencies and cost savings?
3. What’s my Edge strategy?
IT leaders struggle with public cloud strategies rolling out too slowly, entirely stalled, or even abandoned. Others are disappointed with the cost and performance of migrated workloads. As a result, they are looking for alternatives to the Public Cloud.
Given the Public Cloud challenges, most IT leaders will continue to invest in their on-premises data centers and are looking for ways to improve efficiencies while reducing costs. Hyper-converged Infrastructures (HCI) were supposed to be the answer, but their inability to scale and address multiple workloads has kept most HCI implementations isolated to a single use case. HCI was supposed to consolidate. Instead, it has become yet another silo to manage.
Finally, IT leaders need to decide on an Edge strategy. Edge computing enables organizations to process data closer to its source and speed decision-making. Small-footprint computing power is readily available but harnessing it so that central IT can rapidly provision it and remotely manage it is critical for Edge success.
